Finally! The Great British Bake off is back!
We excitedly sat watching the new hosts and bakers star this year GBBO with Cake Week.
The first challenge was the classic Battenberg cake. A British Classic, named in honour of the marriage of Queen Victoria's granddaughter, Princess Victoria to Prince Louis of Battenberg in 1884.

Whether you are making a Moroccan inspire Turkish delight Battenberg or an Ambulance-shaped Battenberg (go on Linda!) you need to have a delicious classic sponge base, and our Genoese sponge mix will give you just that. Just add water and oil for a consistent and tasty sponge. Simply add a few drops of food colouring and a couple of drops of almond extract for the distinctive taste.
You can then make your own super easy marzipan by mixing 1 egg yolk, with 125g caster + 125g icing +250g ground almonds.
